The estimated cost of AO #4 was $2,520,000. The costs were paid by a grant from the State of Minnesota Flood Damage Reduction Program, the Red River Watershed Management Board Funds and MSTRWD’s project fund.

The project occupies approximately 1.5 square miles of area. The drainage area above the project is approximately 23.4 square miles. It is able to store 4,500 acre feet of water up to the principle spillway and 6,430 acre feet of water up to the emergency spillway.

Construction started in August of 1999, and it was finished in 2005.
